Dave Logan presents

4WD School

Welcome to the 4WD School.

Founded in 2007, we provide hands-on training that is appropriate for your needs and goals. We can answer your questions. While we do provide training to military and commercial agencies here in the US and abroad, our main focus is helping the general public learn about the off road features in their 4WD vehicles and then getting hands-on experience using them. The Owner’s Manual for modern 4WD trucks and SUVs contain hundreds of pages of useful information, but they don’t offer much of an explanation on how to use the features. Hands-on experience is the best way to learn.

The 4WD School classes provide a combination of discussion and driving that allows you to learn and practice in a safe environment. Imagine the places you’ll go and the people you’ll meet once you’re ready to explore. With nearly 30 years of experience, we are ready when you are. Come see us…

Dave Logan

Dave has always enjoyed the outdoors in a variety of ways. In the early 1990s he began driving off road as a hobby. He quickly began leading trail rides for the Jeep Jamboree program and became certified as an International 4WD Trainer in 2007. He founded the 4WD School that same year. Since then he has had the opportunity to travel and train drivers in various parts of the world. The 4WD School has been blessed to train civilians, military personnel, and commercial employees on how to drive off road safely and to achieve their goals.

Dave Logan took good care of us. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, energetic and always concerned for our safety. Dave's famous words were "everything's fine, you're doing okay"! Everyone could tell that he loves 4-wheeling! Baltimore, Md.

I have known Dave for 14 years and had the occasion to work with him on a variety of projects and under a wide variety of conditions. One of the traits that Dave has that is most impressive is his calm demeanor. He keeps his head when those around him are losing theirs. This allows Dave to function well with stress and in difficult situations. Dave has a tremendous depth of experience to draw upon, as well as a great depth of friends and colleagues to call upon. This means that he is seldom out of options. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Dave or to bring him in as a consultant. He is a consummate professional.

My husband and I spent 3 days with Dave Logan to train in off roading in our Jeep Rubicon at Coal Creek OHV park in Tennessee. We had some experience but felt we needed more individualized training. Dave spent a lot of time showing us proper technique in rock climbing, navigating different types of terrain, how to use our Jeep equipment such as the hi-lift jack and winch. He also went over the use of topographic maps, navigation equipment, etc. I was a little nervous about driving on certain terrain but Dave helped me become more comfortable by explaining "how to", "where to look" and by the end of the 3 days I drove our jeep on some tough trails and had fun at the same time. My husband also learned a great deal and his skills improved. I would definitely recommend Dave as an off road instructor and we plan to do it again in the near future. Dave is extremely knowledgeable in this field and has lots of hands on experience.

Recently, my Jeep club partnered up with another club and held a UFWDA 4WD Awareness class, taught by Dave Logan. From what I understand, this was the largest group to be taught at one time, with close to 30 people in attendance. For anyone that has never participated in this program, I must say that it is well worth the time and money. There was a wide variety of participants, from the newbies, to the grizzly veterans. Dave did an EXCELLENT job with his presentation, along with the hands on demonstrations to make sure that everyone walked away with some sort of knowledge and or added knowledge pertaining to our hobby. His personal experiences and wisdom are unbelievable and his teaching methods make you want to sit in class and learn for as long as he is willing to teach. I hope that anyone that has never attended one of these programs will take the opportunity to either get one set up in your area or attend one close by, it really is worth it. It was a great privilege to not only meet Dave, but to experience firsthand all of the wonderful things I have heard about him and his presentation! UFWDA forum

Just wanted to send you a quick note. I used our Hi-lift jack to change a flat on Jill's Jeep the other week (even though it was in our driveway, LOL), and just wanted to say thank you for the great training that you gave us. I used the gloves that you supplied, kept my head out of "the triangle", didn't let go of the handle, and had no injuries! What made me think to send this to you is the fact that today, a friend of mine (one of those "know it all types" that chose NOT to take your course) just posted on Facebook that he received a slap to the head via the jack handle today. He didn't lose any teeth, but did get a good thumpin' and will be purchasing new glasses on Monday.

Over a period of three weeks Dave Logan ran a gauntlet across our 24 State region from New York to West Virginia to Wisconsin to Missouri. You consistently delivered high quality 4 wheel drive training tailored to our staff of over 50 employees. Staff reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I found working with you throughout the process to be easy, efficient and effective. When I trusted you to deliver what we agreed upon you did not let me down. In particular, I think you established a quick rapport with the various groups thus maximizing their learning experience and making them more capable, safer 4wd operators going forward. I look forward to working with you again. Thank you. USDA Forest Service
